SPYF uses the same playbook as the High School football program. This approach provides consistency across the youth program and best prepares the players for their future high school career. Playbooks will be provided by the Board of Directors at the beginning of the season and collected at the end of the season.
The offensive and defensive plays are progressively introduced throughout the season, with more complex plays incorporated as players move from grade to grade. The overall objective is for each player to be able to understand and execute each play once they reach 9th grade football.
Unless dictated otherwise by the Dane County Youth Football League, all coaches are expected to only execute plays from the playbook, using terminology and formations outlined in the board issued playbook. This expectation applies to offensive and defensive plays and schemes.
